The Redbud Quilt Guild is sponsoring the 33rd annual Huntingdon Quilt Show April 26th, 9 am to 6 pm and April 27th, 9 am to 3 pm at the Huntingdon Community Center located at 310 5th Street, Huntingdon, PA. In addition to some beautiful quilts, there will be homemade crafts, vendors and door prizes. Area quilters may register quilts on Thursday, April 25th 9 am to noon.
We are proud to welcome Linda McCuean as our quilt show judge this year. Linda is a certified NQA judge from the Pittsburgh area with over 45 years of quilting experience. Many of Linda’s quilts have appeared in books, magazines and calendars. Her Masterpiece quilt “Bella” was shown on the Today Show in 2007 as the winner of the $100,000 quilting challenge.
The Redbuds are a not for profit group in Huntingdon. In addition to their own projects, the members participate in local projects including: large charity quilts, blankets for toddlers and quilt challenges. They are a social group enjoying quilt shop hops, sewing get togethers and retreats. Redbud Guild meetings are the second Monday of the month at 6 pm at the Huntingdon Arts Center; all are welcome to come. The quilt Guild was established in 1992 with the guidance of Ann Overmeyer.
